Malbrouck Castle in Manderen

Meinsberg Castle was founded in the middle of the 15th century as a Vassal seat of the diocese of Trier. The building stands out with its four defensive towers; 3 square and 1 round. The towers are connected by way of an 8-12 m high defensive wall which leaves a powerful impressive. All towers are open to the public and offer illustrations of former times as well as information on trades of former times. In the Hexenturm visitors can learn about the legends and secrets of the former castle inhabitants.
In 1705 the name of the castle changed to Malbrouck. This is the French name for the Duke von Marlborough, who planned the invasion France during the War of the Spanish Succession from here.
