Excursion along the Sauer to Echternach, approx. 40 km + cyclists’ bus
Today you will once again cycle from Treves upriver along the Moselle. From Wasserbillig on you will continue to follow along the Sauer and pass the small villages of Born and Moersdorf, which are the gateways to Luxembourgish Switzerland. In Echternach the Anglo-Saxon missionary Willibrord founded a monastery in 697, the starting point for the annual Ecternach Spring Procession. You can return to Treves by bicycle which will however double your trip to a length of 80 km, or you can use the cyclists’ bus (not included).
