The castle was built in 1720 on the site of a medieval fortress during the reign of Duke Stanislaus, King of Poland. The family who built the castle was the Beauvau-Craon family, who live here to this day and bring a bit of life to the castle. 365 windows, 52 chimneys, 12 towers and 4 bridges are just a few of the impressive figures associated with the building, which together with the parklands surrounding it, provide visitors with a beautiful impression of the nobleman’s love of building in the early 18th century.
